Thank you for your interest in guest blogging with us. Brown Girls Who Write is a community that encourages, supports and promotes ALL Brown Girls Who Write! With that said, it is important to know what types of post I am looking for. Here are a few guidelines below:
Your Guest Post Should Be Relevant: What I am looking for are bloggers that have something to say that will encourage, help, or instruct our writers in their creative journey.
Here are a few example post of what I am looking for:
- A post from a professional editor on the do’s and don’ts of editing your manuscript.
- A post on how to market your ebook to your genre.
- How to increase your blogging audience – 8 easy steps
- If you are a lifecoach and have ways of reducing stress in 5 easy steps, these are good articles to add to my blog and could be beneficial to a writer looking to reduce their stress, since writing can be stressful at times.
Please do not write me to ask me to run a post about hair, fashion or any types of weight loss teas. My readers are writers (authors, bloggers, poets and screen/TV writers) and are looking for resources to take their career to the next level.
Your Guest Post should Be well written: I do expect your post to demonstrate a good command of language, grammar, punctuation, organization, clarity, style and tone. Of course I do not expect perfection, but please do not assume I will edit or rewrite your post for free. Please provide a good error free article.
Your Guest Post should express your personality: Please come from a fresh and unique perspective. Make your post something that not only gives information but speaks from your heart. The internet has tons of information so make your post special and interesting.
A Few Editorial Guidelines:
- Please submit your post in a word document via email to: Kim@Browngirlswhowrite.com > Your document should be between 800-1,500 words. Please put in the subject line “Guest Blogger Submission”.
- Please include your author bio. This can be added to the last paragraph of your post. You should provide 2-4 links to your books, website, blog, social media or wherever our community can link back to you.
- Submit 2-3 high quality headshot. Please no selfies and please make them clear and not blurry.
- We accept only original post. It’s fine if you have a post that you want to tweak to fit in better to the Brown Girl Community. If you decide to repost it elsewhere, you must credit the original post on my blog and provide a link back to it.
- Please no html tags in your word doc.
- If changes need to be done, I have the right to make changes to your post that I feel fit to best accommodate my audience.
- I accept one post per year per blogger. Once your article has been posted on our blog, please wait one calendar year to submit again.
